Airline Monitor Calibration Kits

Air Systems' Carbon Monoxide/Oxygen Calibration kits are available in two sizes, 17 liter and 103 liter.  The cylinders are disposable.  All airline monitors should be calibrated on a monthly basis or if the accuracy of the monitor is in question. Use only Air Systems' gas concentration or an inaccurate calibration may occur.

Coupling Selection

The couplings pictured above are the most popular styles used on airline respirators.  A coupling, which is made up of a socket and a plug, is also called a “QD” or “fitting” and comes in various socket (female) and plug (male) sizes.  Couplings can have male, female, or hose barb ends for different types of connection.  Many manufacturers make interchangeable (equal) couplings that will fit another manufacturer’s style; most manufacturers make an interchange style of coupling that is compatible with other brands on the market.

Remote Alarms

Remote Alarms act as a valuable early warning device for the isolated worker and allows him to make a safe egress when a system fault alarm occurs.
These remote alarm units have been designed to duplicate local alarms found on the primary equipment such as the Breather Box™, to signal workers in a remote location that there is an alarm condition with their system.
 
Note:  Portable Breather Box® units require DC alarms.  Wall mount filter panels require AC alarms.

A remote air manifold is often called a Point-of-Attachment (POA). All of our remote air manifolds meet NIOSH requirements of the 87-116 (1989) document for point-of-attachment.  The Point-of-Attachment (POA) series provides remote manifold capability for respirator users, while complying with NIOSH  regulations. The POA series consists of a regulator, pressure gauge, safety relief valve, and fitting congruency necessary for proper respirator operation. The POA box can be located any distance from the Grade-D filtration Breather Box® or filtration panel. The remote air manifold (POA) assembly becomes the NIOSH attachment point for the respirators and is now limited to a maximum of 300 feet of breathing air hose at the air outlet fitting on the remote POA box.

This portable airline monitor connects easily to a breathing air filtration source or ambient air pumps and monitors the air for CO content.  The audible alarm (90dbA) and light will activate when the CO level exceeds 10ppm (5ppm Canadian).  External alarm and lights allow for the unit to be used in the closed position and eliminates damage and contamination of the internal components.
